If you are interested in volunteer ushering, please send an email to housemananger@thenewgroup.org. We experience a very high volume of emails, so please be patient. No phone calls, please.

Marketing and General Management Internships
Interns will work with our administrative staff to market and manage our productions, assisting with research, mailings, subscriber communication, preparing contracts, ticket management and more. There are other opportunities for house management training and experience. Ideal candidate will be highly organized and possess excellent time management and creative problem-solving skills. Most importantly, all candidates should be exceptionally skilled at customer service and be able to multi-task under pressure. We accept internship applications on a rolling basis. Please send a letter of inquiry and a resume to Elisabeth Bayer at elisabeth@thenewgroup.org.

Development Internships
The development interns work closely with the Director of Development and Manager of Institutional Giving in all aspects of development. Development interns have the opportunity to be involved in foundation research, strategy meetings, event planning and program development. Interns also assist and help coordinate New Group events including opening and closing nights, patron dinners, and the gala. This is for self-motivated individuals who are interested in learning about the arts and the creative thinking that goes behind fundraising. Excellent communication and people skills are also key for this internship. A minimum or 15 hours per week is expected. Please send a letter of inquiry and a resume to Jamie Lehrer at Jamie@thenewgroup.org.

Literary Internships
All literary interns will work with The New Group's Associate Artistic Director, Ian Morgan.

Candidates should have experience working with new plays, in an academic context or professionally, and must commit to working at least 15 hours per week for 3 months minimum. Responsibilities of the literary internship include: evaluating scripts, corresponding with playwrights and agents, and working on the New Group/New Works play development series. If more flexibility is needed, we also offer opportunities for script readers. In this case, more experienced individuals can participate in our literary department by reading and evaluating scripts from home (e.g. four scripts every two weeks). If interested please mail or e-mail your resume and cover letter to:
