Ariel Sibert
Ariel Sibert (she/her) is a dramaturg, critic, and founding member of Fake Friends (Pulitzer Prize finalists, 2021; Obie Award, 2023). Her work as a dramaturg and producer of theater and video with Fake Friends and other artists, including Hito Steyerl, Sara Cwynar, Savaş Boyraz, and Shadi Ghaheri, has been presented at the Park Avenue Armory, the Performa Biennial, New York Theatre Workshop, BAM, Yale Repertory Theatre, and the Jan Van Eyck Academie, among other venues. She teaches Dramaturgy at Sarah Lawrence College, and has taught theater studies as an Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac University and as a Teaching Fellow at the Yale School of Drama and Yale University. She also served as the Associate Editor of the journal Theater (Duke UP) and a visiting critic of performance at the Yale School of Art. Her writing has been published in TDR, Theater, American Theater, 3Views, Text and Presentation, and Toward a Just Pedagogy of Performance (Routledge, 2024). arielsibert.com
