“I’ll tell you why he’s brilliant.  And an asshole.  But brilliant, first… He knows people want the show.”

Moscow, 2004. A journalist, a drunk, a whistleblower, and a woman whose heart has been eaten by a bird. All figure in Erika Sheffer’s haunting play about the early days of the Putin regime. Weaving together stories of ordinary Russians, Vladimir chronicles the horror and hilarity of living in a nation marching toward the abyss.
